You asked how you could support, so I created a Patreon

Over the years, I have come to love livestreaming video games and creating highlights from those streams. My overall goal in life is to create a community where being nerdy and geeky is accepted and required. A big piece of that community is creating fun videos for people to enjoy.

I started streaming about four years ago, and my first livestream was for charity. I played a Resident Evil game in hopes of raising donations for my local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital via the Extra Life program. I raised $300! My livestream was literally a camera being pointed at my TV. Of course, streaming has since become easier and more convenient especially with consoles, but I would like to create videos of better quality.

Right now, I have a simple set up. I have my couch, my consoles (I do have an ambition to include PC gaming in the future), and thanks to leftover gift card funds and selling some old equipment, a Yeti mic.

Supporting my Patreon means that you will be helping me to obtain not only better equipment, and an upgraded setup, but games in general that will be the first step to creating these streams and highlights. As I am beginning this journey, my campaign will be set up so that any funds dedicated to this Patreon will only be accepted once I create something. After all, I feel that this is the best way to earn your support.
Streaming and making these videos is fun for me and will always be something that I do because I love it, so it means the world that some of you have expressed interest in donating to that passion.  I have turned to Patreon to give you that option to help. A common practice for streamers is to set up a donation button via Paypal on their profiles, but I know many others have opted to use Patreon instead. Using this program allows me connect more with people who pledge and I can also offer rewards as tokens of thanks for their pledges. I am and will forever be grateful for each pledge that comes in.

Thank you for hearing me out in my crazy, little adventure.

Keep on gaming!

Bloodborne Livestream to Help Shelly Beat Cancer Wrap Up

I wanted to update everyone on my livestream effort that took place over the weekend of March 5th, 2016. To catch people up to speed, my friend, Shelly, was diagnosed with colon cancer recently. She is scheduled to have her colon removed for further analysis to determine what stage the cancer is. Best case scenario, the cancer stayed within the colon. Worst case, the cancer spread and they begin chemo.

Shelly has suffered illnesses throughout her life due to an almost non existent immune system. She also has Crohns. She has also never asked for help before. This time she and her husband have asked for a helping hand. This is why I was livestreaming Bloodborne. I streamed for as long as I could (came out to be about 17-18 hours over Saturday and Sunday) to raise some donations for their GoFundMe Page.  I wrote down the amount that the GoFundMe already had and then I took down the amount at the end of my stream. I also saw a few more donations come in afterward that came from good friends of mine. I am so proud of the GeekyFriedRice community. We have raised approximately $1,930.00 for Shelly and her husband. HOLY FRAGGLESNAPS.

I saw donations come in from everywhere: people who personally knew me, people from mutual communities and some from people who had never met neither myself or Shelly. I am absolutely floored by your kindness and generosity. Shelly also stopped by for a bit on Saturday to talk to the people in the livestream so they could “meet” who they were donating to and it was a surreal experience. At one point in her visit, we refreshed the GoFundMe page and saw the number increase and she just pointed at my computer in surprise. She couldn’t believe how many people donated to help her. And I told her it was worth it, she was worth it, and that I loved her. She gave me a big hug and it was an even sweeter moment because the chat was sharing that with us.

And I will openly admit that I could not have done this without you guys. So many people shared this news and so many people stayed with me while I streamed. I had a good 30-40 viewers at all times during the stream on Saturday. I am humbled. My twitter feed blew up with retweets and supportive replies and responses and I even found support from fellow Twitch streamers who hosted, raided and shared my channel to their audiences. They are all awesome and I encourage you to check them out:

You guys helped out so much. I will forever be grateful for what you guys have done to help spread the word about Shelly’s story. All of you didn’t have to do anything, but you did and it means so, so much to me and Shelly.

To everyone who shared her page, donated, stayed with us during the stream, kept us fed (shoutout to Jordan Lucas for the pizza support), this weekend was amazing because of you. Shelly has a big surgery on the 18th, so all your well wishes, positive thoughts/prayers are appreciated.

If you want to see updates on Shelly, her GoFundMe is here  and she occasionally updates her Instagram.

You can catch my livestreams here.

I will continue to stream and bring as much awareness as I can to Shelly’s GoFundMe, but I just wanted to let you all know how special this last weekend was to me. You guys are amazing, and you are the heart of this community. Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts.

Less than three you.

Extra Life continues on until the end of the year!

Rooster Teeth had a big day for their Extra Life livestream. It is always phenomenal to watch them do their thing, and it’s even better to see the community come together and absolutely destroy the donation goals set by Jack and Caiti.

As you know, many community members, including myself, are raising donations as well. This year, my personal goal is $1500, and I am leading a small team with a team goal of $2000.

I will be doing my own livestream this weekend, mostly likely starting out with the Alien Isolation DLC because you know… I am entertaining as hell when I’m scared out of my mind. I will also be livestreaming Fallout 4 as well. Fair warning, I will probably take two hours just on character creation.

I have currently raised $680 of my $1500 goal and I am still going strong! Just remember, if you donate $15 or more, you will get entered into a raffle for the following prizes:

And very recently, I came into this gem.

It doesn’t have all RT signatures, but it has a crapton of them.

So if you are still able to donate, please help me make it to my personal goal. You can donate here If you cannot donate because you kicked so much ass by helping other Extra Lifers, I humbly ask if you can share my page.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. You truly made my birthday memorable and wonderful, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time, donating your money, and spreading the word about my Extra Life page to help make my birthday wish come true.
